Counselling for Professors & Students
"We, academics, should talk to each other more about how we actually spend our time, with all the anxieties, displacements, and failures that involves” – Maggie Berg

Academia can be stressful, but you don't have to struggle alone
Are you a university professor, new grad, or a grad student who wants to learn sustainable ways of maintaining life-work balance, renew or foster your passion for teaching and research, or discover who you are beyond academia?
Is one or more of the following standing in your way of enjoying your life?
-
anxiety, depression
-
burnout
-
lack of life-work balance
-
finishing your dissertation
-
job search or sessional teaching
-
publication-related stress
-
relationships with colleagues or administration
-
stress from teaching difficult material (politics, climate change, racism, etc.)
-
tenure track or promotion stress and anxiety
-
post-academic career exploration or transition
If any of these apply to you, counselling with me can help you feel better and thrive.
Get support from an insider
Non-academics don't always understand the unique stressors and pressures of being a university professor, a new grad on the job market, or a grad student struggling to finish their thesis.
Counselling is my second career. My first and ongoing career is a university professor. I've been in academia for almost two decades, first as a student and then as a faculty, and understand what it's like to be a part of this world.
